Days Out - The Cricket Inn Totley

On Sunday just gone by, we decided to take drive to the Peaks and get some Sunday Lunch at The Cricket Inn.

This place is a proper country style pub.

I opted for a hot chocolate since the days are getting colder.
You can always tell when its winter by the drinks I order.

We were offered complimentary home made bread with Sage infused olive oil and "dirty butter" which was beef dripping.

I tried the dripping but was not a fan. The bread and il was nice though.

They did have other items on the Sunday Menu but I went for the Gammon as I rarely get it at home.

The Yorkshire Pud was clearly star of the show, just look at it!

We got a pot of cauliflower cheese too for the table. It was super cheesy!

For dessert I got the Toffee Apple "Bakewell" Tart with yoghurt sorbet.
Let me just say this much, I already love sorbet as is, but to make it a yoghurt sorbet... YES!
It was absolutely divine!

The meal was very nice and the pub is a really nice old style country pub where you can bring your dog. It was definitely a treat!

To finish off, here's a snap of my Outfit for the Day.

What I Wore:

Jumper - Yours Clothing
Camisole - Asda
Leggings - Simply Be
Trainers - Sainsburys

Where have you been eating lately?

Days Out - London

After exploring a lot of the North this week, we decided to treat Gavin to a day out in the South.
London is the capitol of the country so naturally we had to go there for a day.
When you come from a different country, London is the one place you hear about all the time.

We drove down to Edgware and got the train from there into London.

First time on a train and tube.

After a stroll in the park, the first place we visited was Buckingham Palace.

Gavin got right up close and personal with the gates of the palace whilst mum and I decided to take a break and have a sit down at the fountain.

I had decided that it was a flower crown kind of day because why not!
I wore my all time fave sunglasses which are a steal from eBay.

After that we made our way to Harrods.

Obviously we had to come and see one of the worlds most famous stores!

Free samples were all about the food floor and they were delicious!

From Harrods we took the tube to Covent Garden where we went for lunch at Steak & Co which was our fave food joint from when we were in London in December last year.

Look at dis food! YAS!

It was pretty darn hot out, I felt like my face was melting.
I think swell, I was getting a chest infection here so I was really weary of doing a lot of walking and such.
Hence the face!

We went to Borough Market to favour the treats on offer.
Just look at all the cheese!

I tried a FRESH AF watermelon juice!

We started to make our way home from there, hopping on tube to tube to get back to our car.

It was a successful first outing to London I reckon, not one I want to repeat again any time soon ta!

How do you combat the heat?

Days Out - Lincoln

Yesterday was another day out!
We went to Lincoln to explore the castle and the town.

I wore my "art teacher" shirt cos I was feeling sassy as fuck!

We walked through the castle, round the castle yard, to the Cathedral and through into Lincoln town centre.

We went into the cathedral and had a look around.

Selfie infant of the cathedral, obvs!

There was a guy doing these really cool mandala type designs on the slate outside, he was using ground up marble to make the design. It was beautiful and it shimmered in the light!

We made our way down into the town centre via Steep Hill, which truly is STEEP.

The hill is filled with lotsa different

Half way down we pulled into Patisserie Valerie for some afternoon tea.

Then it was back home to retreat to our garden to enjoy the sun and the rest of the afternoon.

We had a bbq and polished off 2 bottles of Prosecco between us.
What a treat.

What's your fave afternoon treat?
