Dancing Queens

A few weeks ago it was Daisy's birthday and we decided to go out in Sheffield to celebrate it.

I booked a hotel in the centre of town, only 10 minutes walk from work so pretty ideal.

The day we went out was a Thursday and we went out after work so to start off with myself and Daisy went to the hotel to relax, drink wine and get ready.

I had lugged Daisy's present around all day at work so I was super excited to actually see her opening it.

Our friend Amy met us at the hotel and we all had a merry time chatting and getting ready.

Amy and I had decided to surprise Daisy with something special, it was either gonna be a stripper or cocktail making and the latter pulled through.

So we hopped off to Soyo where there was a section of the bar made up just for us.

We were presented a glass of Prosecco each whilst the bar man talked us through the utensils we would potentially be using.

We were given the cocktail menu and could make pretty much anything in it.

First up was Amy.

I think she made a Long Island Ice Tea.
Not that it tastes a thing like tea at all.

Next it was Daisy's go.

Look at her fancy glass!

I went last.
I made a cocktail called Junebug. It was the cocktail of the week.

The bar man told us what to do and bought the alcohol to us but that was it, we had to make the cocktails all by our selves!

Doesn't that look magnificent?! It was more lime green in real life obviously!

There was loads time to chat and laugh during each cocktail.
We weren't rushed at all. And intact the bar was empty, being a Thursday night might have added to that. But it meant we had the place to ourselves and we didn't have to worry bout other people.

Looks tasty!

My next drink was called Pick & Mix.
It was a choice of any flavoured vodka, I chose peach. Then a few mixers and a fruit pastel, served in a cute little jar!

This tasted as good as it looked!

I was very impressed with my drink in a jar!

Selfie with the birthday girl!

Making my final drink... It had to be blue and purple like my hair!

The bar man called it a Adios Motherfucker but we called it mermaid poop.
It tasted lovely, Daisy said this tastes like a unicorn and mermaid fuck fest. I'll take that as a compliment!

Looking very proud of my achievement.

Gotta take a group selfie!

This was the bar itself, all lit up and glorious!

We got a round of free shots courtesy of the bar man whose name was Alex but we kept calling him Soyo.

The masterclass was amazing! The staff were all lovely, the cocktails were also lovely and so was the company!!

We then went to Wick at both Ends for a chat and more cocktails.

I had a Tequila-colada.
A Pina Colada made with coconut tequila instead of rum.
It was actually amazing! Even the flower was edible.

After a bathroom break and a quick preen we hopped down to West Street Live where many drinks were had till we needed crisps and chicken!

I had such a great night with these ladies.

Have you been to a cocktail masterclass?

Dancing Queens #2

Just a quick post about yet another night out dancing with my lady friend Rachel to celebrate her birthday!
(this post is an advert for many alcohols)

I wore my new AX Paris dress from Simply Be along with my Simply Be Boucel  Biker Jacket.

We went to Franky & Bennies for lunch and started with a jug of cocktails.

Then we went to Lloyds bar in town for many a glass of (weasel piss) wine, and chatting.

I picked up this New Look bag whilst we were out.

Then we hopped across the road to Yates and drank more drinks from Jugs.

After rushing around the bus station, getting drenched, and a very understanding taxi man, we ended up in West Street Live which admittedly does the best drink specials in Sheffield.
The barman who served us was clearly on our wave length, I believe I asked for "the cheapest drink which contains the most amount of alcohol, preferably in jugs". We are a classy pair!

Many an hour was spent dancing to cheesy, but AMAZING music in West Street Live, and many  double vanilla vodka and cokes were consumed. As well as many attempted selfies in the toilets.
I braved the night without my jacket or cardigan because this dress needed showing off!

Classy!

 Bathroom selfies as per usual!

We ended up in The Walkabout where we spent the rest of the night, and admittely I drank a (fuck) load of alcohol and TOO MANY £1 shots! I think 5 in a row is not very clever, specially when you do it each time you get the drinks. But when you get sent to the bar alone, what do you expect?
(this explains my state at the end of the night Rachel)

And of course, everyone knows that the best way to end a great night is with a half and half pizza, a rubicon and a selfie in the take away!

A big thank you has to be said to my dancing partner Rachel, but more importantly to Mr Rachel for tolerating my drunkness. It amused me to no end that for once I was the drunk one and Rachel was less drunk!

Check out the first Dancing Queens instalment here.

Dancing Queens #1

A few weekends ago I attended a Rad Fat Shopping Trip in fat heaven Doncaster.
(read about the other shopping trips here, here & here)
(this might be long... and picture heavy)
The night before the shopping trip Rachel and I went out dancing in Sheffield.
Can't go on public transport without doing a selfie!
On my lips that day I wore Urban Decay lipstick in AC/DC.
It's a double sided lipstick with a silver purple colour on one side and a deep plum colour on the other.

We went to Ed's diner first with her Mr man too, and it was SO delicious! Ed's diner has reignited my love for hotdogs!

Then we got to our hotel and commenced the pre drinks, dancing and listening to our favouritest bestest songs, which happens to be about 50 songs long.

Finally photo ready.

Strike a pose

I wore the Grazia Chiffon Neck Dress which I'm renaming the Rosie dress.
Rachel wore the Project D London ‘Buckingham’ Sequin Party Dress, which I am renaming the Rachel Dress.
Both are from the Simply Be Golden Renaissance Blogger Shoot.

We started out in Wick at Both Ends which does some phenomenal cocktails.

This is called a Zombie, it has many alcohols in it, is a poor life decision, but it has fire on it.

We went to a few places and adopted some people (actually gatecrashed a bday) and ended up in the Walkabout for many a hour and many a dance.

 Making rad fat friends.

 Some social lubrication

Many a drink was had, but more importantly, much dancing was done! MUCH dancing!
My feet were killing me by the end of the night, I WAS wearing brand new shoes, but they still needed to dance more so we seeked out the chavviest place and danced more.

Here is a cute as fuck blurry pic of Rachel in the middle of throwing out some moves!

And naturally I had a #dailyscowl selfie in the bathroom of a pub.

All in all, with the horrid burger at the end and the overtly sexual dancing from foreign men (who just DON'T understand the word NO), it was a good night.
With my trusty dance partner Rachel, nothing much could go wrong!

Classy gives leave prints
I can't wait for another instalment of Dancing Queens or as I like to tag it on instagram, #fatbabedancing.
