Recent Acquirements

This morning Gavin, my Besets friend from South Africa arrived in England to start a new life here.

After the excitement of him finally being here and a long drive home at 9am, we decided to pop into Meadowhall for a spot of shopping and a general mooch around.

So naturally I picked up a few items.

I wanted to get some incense sticks for my room since I rarely burn candles in it and I don't have any reed difusers as I'm scared of knocking them over.
So these will do for me. I used to burn these when I was younger and I loved that musky hippy scent they leave so Im excited to get some of these out soon.

I picked up a pair of pumps from Primark simply because I need a pair of black pumps for the weekend. I struggled to find my normal "dancing shoes" sadly, I had seen them the other day but the queue was too long just for a pair of shoes. I figured these were fine for work after the weekend.

I then saw one of these power banks whilst I was in the queue and thought Id just get it since my recent purchase of a battery bank is proving frivolous as its not working anymore. So this was a bargain for only £6.00.

I saw this nice little vanilla bath bomb for a quid so I picked it up too.
I haven't been bathing recently due to it being summer but I thought I could add it to my growing collection for when it gets colder again.

I truly saved the best for last on this one!
I was just having a peek at the bags in Primark as I was after a new backpack for next weekend.
I saw a few nice "leather" ones which I really liked and some other canvas ones and I had nearly given up and as we were walking away I spotted this little monster. And I just knew I had to have it!
I tried the straps to make sure they'd fit me properly and they did. It was truly love at first sight!

Have you been buying yourself anything?

Payday Treats

Bringing a quick recent purchase your way.
I had to pick up some eyelashes for a night out and I'd been wanting to try a primer swell so I popped into Superdrug one day after work last week and picked up this little collection of items.

I decided to pick up a new Barry M nail varnish, its one of the speedy quick dry varnishes.
I wanted a new colour from the collection that I could put on in a rush at work, the speed dry bit of the varnish really helps for that.

I got a darker purple colour.
The name is Pit Lane.

As I said before, I needed a pair of lashes so I picked up these Eyelure ones.
Daisy was with me and she bout these for me as the eyesore products were 2 for £8.

I got the Infallible Mattifying Primer and whilst I was looking around I saw the Infallible Fixing Mix.
I gotta admit, its lovely! Both of them.

What have you picked up recently?

Quick Payday Haul

It seems forever ago that I posted anything but I have an excuse… I have been binge watching Greys Anatomy! You can totally understand right!?

I decided to pop into Superdrug the other morning before a trip to Harry Potter Studio. I was in need of some new mascara.

I picked up a Maybelline one, different to my normal Lash Sensation, it’s the Big Eyes Volume Express. It has a dual brush system going on. A thin brush for lower lashes and a thicker bigger brush for the upper lashes.

When I went in to pick up my normal Maybelline mascara I saw this one was on offer as part of the 3 for 2 deal they had going on.

I tried it that day and I do really like the concept they have. I always find that when I try do my lower lashes with normal brushes I always end up messing a bit on my lower lash line so the smaller brush really does do the trick. The larger brush coats my lashes really well and isn’t clumpy.

I picked up another 2 Maybelline products, this is another favourite of mine, it’s  from the Baby Lips range. I’d run out of my last baby lips product and needed a new one.

I picked one called Pink Punch which is a Barbie Doll pink tinted lip balm and one called Hydrate which is colourless but very very nourishing.

I always like to have one or two of these in my bags as I like to keep my lips in good condition, especially throughout the winter.

Next I picked up a Brow Kit from Revolution Make Up. I’ve used this one before and it works well for me. The kit comes with 3 shades of brown/beige and a gel. It also has the tiniest tweezers and a brow brush. It has a handy little mirror as well.

I tend to use the medium brown colour for my brows. The other colours are also useful as eyeshadows.

The actual packaging is lovely but as you can see on mine, it can get scuffed very fast. This happened in a matter of a day from just being in my make up bag.

The final thing I picked up was an Impulse body spray. I got it in the scent Tease. I prefer to have a body spray with me at work as I like to reapply and keep smelling fruity fresh throughout the day.

I certainly do not want to reapply with my fave perfume as it would run out way to quickly that way. The scent of this Impulse is one of my faves. Its fresh, crisp and floral. This is a nice small bottle too so it fits nicely in your bag.

If you are looking for some deals, get yourself over to Superdrug and make use of their 3 for 2 deals.

Quick Payday Haul

BLOGTOBER - Day 27

Payday has come and I decided to pop into Superdrug to pick up some treats for myself.

There was a 3 for 2 offer on all cosmetics so I picked up 3 new Rimmel lipsticks, one I've already given to Daisy as it was a nice nudey pink which she likes.

The other 2 I picked up were a pink and a purple.

The colours I got for myself were 110 Pink A Punch and 800 Under My Spell.

The packaging is gorgeous, its sleek and classy.
The colour is on the outside of the packaging too so you know what colour it is straight away.

The Rimmel crown is on the top of the lid too.

Even thought the pink is a bright pink it also comes off a bit coral.
The purple is a lovely deep purple, almost gothic. Its lush!

Here's the colours as a swatch.

I'm loving the quality of the lippy.

Have you picked up any f the new Rimmel line?

A Celebratory Haul

As most of you know, I am South African, a dirty foreigner.

I've been living in UK for nearly 9 years now and in May my visa expires and things could go one of two ways. I'm hoping it keeps going to plan in I'm still here in a few months time.
Part of being allowed to stay is getting Leave to Remain status which requires 2 tests.
An English test and a Life In the UK Test, these two tests sadly cost quite a lot of money and if you fail, you don't get a refund, you have to learn again and pay again.

So you can imagine how stressful it is to make sure you're prepared for these two tests which pretty much determine the rest of your life.
I studied for a VERY long time, over a year, to make sure I was 100% sure I would pass, only to find out I had been studying the wrong book, 2 days before the test!

BUT... I did them both and passed with flying colours!
So to treat myself I popped into Superdrug and got myself a few nice treats.

This lot came in at a cool £24.98, the Barry M was on buy one get one half price.

I've wanted a nice grey varnish for a while but none have really caught my eye, until this one from Barry M. It's called Vanilla and it dries to a nice matte grey. It only takes one coat to be totally opaque which is decent.

This new Speed Dry Barry M has bought out really is that, speedy!
I got a summery coral peach colour because it was just perfect. And can you really have enough peach coral varnishes? I don't think so.

How cute it this colour right?!

I picked up this hand cream as it was inexpensive and I've been finding that in the winter, my hands are feeling worse and super dry.
I've used this a few time, working it into my cuticles too.

Not a bad lot for under £25 is it?!!
