Payday Treats

Bringing a quick recent purchase your way.
I had to pick up some eyelashes for a night out and I'd been wanting to try a primer swell so I popped into Superdrug one day after work last week and picked up this little collection of items.

I decided to pick up a new Barry M nail varnish, its one of the speedy quick dry varnishes.
I wanted a new colour from the collection that I could put on in a rush at work, the speed dry bit of the varnish really helps for that.

I got a darker purple colour.
The name is Pit Lane.

As I said before, I needed a pair of lashes so I picked up these Eyelure ones.
Daisy was with me and she bout these for me as the eyesore products were 2 for £8.

I got the Infallible Mattifying Primer and whilst I was looking around I saw the Infallible Fixing Mix.
I gotta admit, its lovely! Both of them.

What have you picked up recently?

Matte Me Up Scotty

So I picked up some of the Sleek Matte Lip Creams as I really enjoy liquid to matte lip stuff.
I find a liquid to matte lipcream to be better than an actual matte lipstick as the lipsticks seem to be very drying and bitty after a while whereas the creams seem to be much better and aren't drying and tend to have a really good staying power.

The two colours I got were pink colours. The darker one is a natural choice for me but the lighter is very unlike me. I don't normally choose a nude'y type of colour. But I really liked this one.

I picked up the colour Petal and Fandango Purple.

The packaging is nice, you get a squared clear tube so you can see the colour inside. The top is a matte finish with the brands name in gloss. Very clever effect there Sleek!

They cost £4.99 per tube. Which really isn't bad at all. Very reasonable. And you know I'm all about the bargain beauty products!

This is the product watched and still liquid'y. Both colours are gorgeous and look lovely on.

This is after 1 minute of drying.
On the lips, these dry in about 2 minutes. I feel like you need to really be careful because when you are applying it and its drying, its difficult to go over the dryer bits with more liquid. You have to pretty precise.

This is the swatches after I washed it off like twice. So as you can see its a pretty pigmented.

I wore Petal the other day and it looks lovely on the lips. It's a perfect princess barbie pink in my opinion! It's definitely not my usual taste but sometimes you have to go outside your comfort zone to get great results!

What's In My Emergency Make Up Bag?

My friend Daisy has a video on her blog about her emergancy make up bag and I thought I'd follow her example and post about my own emergency bag that I carry with me all the time.

I carry all my stuff in this drawstring bag I got from Daisy.
It's from one of her My Little Box's. She gave me 3 of the bags and I've been using the for my make up bags. Once they get too grubby I just wash them.

They're pretty spacious which is great cos as you can see, mines jam packed and almost bursting!

I change my work bag often so it's good to be able to just take this bag out and put it in the new bag that I'm using that day.

So what's in my bag then:
toothpaste // toothbrush // blush brush // lipstick // mascara
different mascara // baby lips // highlighter // brow kit // blush
deodorant // kabuki brush // powder // eyeshadow brush // eyeshadow pallette
clear mascara // nail varnish // phone charger  // perfume // solid perfume
rennies // bobby pins // hair band // paracetamol

I normally have a tube of dry shampoo aswell but i'd run out.

What do you carry in your bag?

BLOGTOBER - Day 26

Here's some bits I got on the weekend.

I needed some plain back pumps as mine have ceased to exist and next weekend they'll be in use as part of a combined Halloween outfit with Rachel.

The sweets and brush/mirror were from my mum, just because why not kinda thing.

I decided to try the Dove dry shampoo instead of Batiste just because I am currently finding my normal Batiste dry shampoo to be very expensive recently.
This one was a steal at 99p from b&m.

The perfume was a last minute purchase just for some cheap smelly to chuck in my bag since I am coming to an end on my super drug fruit body sprays.
This was £3.99, bargain. Smells cute and girly, so I'm happy.

The lashes are from Primark, bought surely for the night out on Saturday.
They were nice and light and made my eyes look fluttery as fuck.

The Silky Underwear is clearly from Lush, I have been meaning to try this out for an age, since next weekend I plan to be totally bare legged for an entire day I figured now was the best time to purchase this.

I got some items from Boots' Natural Collection.

And finally I had to replace my face powder so popped this Rimmel Translucent pressed powder in my basket, for a cool £2.10 as there was a knick in the plastic cover, which isn't a bother for me.

What have you been hauling recently?

Blog Every Day in June #3 - Make Up Must Haves

Today's post is about Make Up Must Haves... I really could have a never ending list of "must haves" but I have narrowed it down to a few items I simply would not be able to do without.

My make up bag will always have some form of moisturiser/lotion in it. I prefer Nivea or The Body Shop pomegranate anti ageing cream. If I had to lose everything and only have one item, it would be moisturiser.
It has endless uses, I like to use a moisturiser before I go to sleep so my face feels nice and soft the next day, I use it on my hands, feet, lips. I sometimes, after a long days work, use moisruriser as a make up remover, just rub it on my face and spend like 5 mins rubbing it in and then wash it off.
I definitely would not be able to live without a little bottle/tub of lotion!

My next item I think is great to have as an essential is a lip balm, specially in winter. I ALWAYS put on lip balm before anything else goes on my lips.
Every day after I have brushed my teeth, I brush my lips with my toothbrush, it brings the blood to the lips and leaves my lips feeling soft and luscious, after that I whack on loadsa lip balm.
Lip balm also works as an eye primer for shadow if you have no actual primer.

Speaking of primers, my next must have is a good primer.
I was introduced to the L'Oreal Studio Secrets primer by Rachel. And Im so glad I was. I always have a pot of this primer in my make up bag. It smooths my skin so well and goes on a charm.

Next step would be face stuff and I chose BB creams for my face.
For a very long time I wore foundation on my face until about 3 years ago when I went through a mass try out of all the BB creams I could find and it ended up being the pricer one that really worked well for me and I have stuck to it ever since then.
Though recently I have been trying not to rely on a tinted moisturiser/bb cream.
Moving onto powder, I do not use powder which is coloured, I use a translucent powder just to set whatever liquid stuffs I have on. I just use this to get rid of shine on my face.

The next item I feel is really important... Mascara.
It can take a tired looking face and turn it into a sorta semi human face.
On a day where I don't do any make up at all, I will still use mascara as it brightens up your eyes.

Finally, a red lipstick!
NO make up bag should go without one of these.
A STRONG BOLD red is needed!
What's your essentials?

What can I get for a tenner?

I took a leaf out of Daisy's book and decided to peruse the isles of Superdrug one night after work and set my mind at a £10.00 budget.
(hop on over to her blog, linked above, to see how well she does "wcigfat")

I had a look about at a few items but was ultimately drawn to the end of the isle where the stand for Make Up Revolution was located.
Because its a new store, the section was nearly untouched.

Here's my little Make Up Revolution haul:

lipsticks // eye shadows // nail varnish // blush // highlighter

Im pretty impressed that I got so much for a mere £10.00.
But I must admit, I have used these items many times in the last 2 weeks, specially the highlight.

Have you bought anything from Make Up Revolution?

Essence Haul

I have been waiting an age for Essence to come to UK, I used to get this brand in South Africa and was super disappointed when I did not see it on any make up isles here.

I hopped into my local Wilkos and boy did I strike it lucky, they were just stocking the Essence booth up. I wondered round the store for a while till I saw the shiny new sparkly Essence goodies just waiting for me to snatch them up!

Look at the sparkles!!
Heat Wave Blush Square
This little blush block is great, its like an ombre blush so you have 4 colours in one really.
And all four colours are wonderful, its super bright and vibrant. It will do well for me!
This mascara I was really looking forward to because it was my old go to mascara, when I went back to South Africa I couldnt get it anymore so when I saw it was part of the range coming to Wilko's, I was very happy.
 Lashes Go Wild Mascara.

Blush My Lips lipstick. A standard dark pink. Good to have a back up pink in your make up bag.
This lippy is quite nourishing but isnt glossy which I love.
 All About Nude eyeshadow pallet.
I was just drawn to this, no particular reason, I just felt I needed to own it.

L-R:
glitz & glam  // roller coaster  // sweet as candy  //  party princess  //  million dollar baby
Have you got anything from the Essence range yet?

Blogmas - Day 31 Taking care of my Lips, Baby

During the winter I like to stock up on lip balms and lip salve products because my lips get chapped and crack easy, so I like to have at least 1 in my bag at all times.

I usually have a variety of products to hand, in recent times I have favoured Carmex Cherry Lip Balm or the Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus and always have a tin of Vaseline Lip Therapy, which are all affordable and available in most drugstores and supermarkets.

But recently I happened upon something different.
Now I don't follow trends and make up fads, I just use what I like when I like.
I know that Maybelline Baby Lips was a big thing recently but I never thought much of them until a work friend shared a recent purchase with me (because thats what women do ok).

In a payday treat I bought 2 shades and got the other today (Saturday)

L-R: Pink Punch, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss

I really like these as they are tinted, but don't stain. They're very wearable and very very very moisturising. AND affordable at only £2.99 a pop in Superdrug.

L-R: Pink Punch, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss

Pink Punch is a soft baby pink and my favorite of the 3 I have. It has a fruity scent, almost like a fruit punch, wehey.

Cherry Me comes on as a light pinky red, and obviously smells like cherry.

Peach Kiss is the lightest of the 3. Its a nice nude colour and has a peach scent.

I did a lil swatchy thing, well, lip test really. I have kept the same order as above for continuity's sake.

L-R: Pink Punch, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss

I am definitely a fan of these and will most likely be purchasing the rest of the collection as soon as I can, and also just stocking up on as many as I can for the winter.

Are you a fan of these, what's your favorite one?
