Layering Up with New Look

Well I don't know about you guys, but I am starting to feel the chill now a days.
Seems we have had our fill of summer and the autumnal days are closing in, not that I mind.

I am a huge fan of layering, I love being able to chuck on a cardi to keep me warm in these transition days. I never know if its going to be just a little bit too cold for short sleeves or not because the sun in the morning tricks me. So having a cardi handy really is that, handy!

My favourite cardigan right now is this pink one with cute lace detail on the back from New Look*.

I really love this one because it's light enough but still gives me warmth.
The knit is quite thin so it doesn't bulk up your outfit.

I've been wearing this quite often recently and it goes with most things, I've styled it with print heavy dresses, skirt and blouse as well as super casual with jeans and a t-shirt.

Here's how I wore it with jeans to go for a meal with the fam and do some grocery shopping.

As you can see, Ive layered this with a t-shirt with a cami underneath.

These jeans are the super skinny Rosie jeans.
I love them for colder days as they're so skinny that they're like leggings and we all know how much I love my leggings.

I paired all this with my new Chelsea boots from Simply Be.

The lace detailing comes all the way up the back of the cardigan and onto the shoulders.

The lace is really sweet and whatever you're wearing underneath shows through.

My tips for layering are pretty simple;

pick thin pieces so you don't feel too clumpy
if you find one item that works, get it in every colour
don't be scared to layer

If you're looking for some cute knit layering pieces, New Look has you covered.

Go forth and LAYER!

New Look Wishlist

Every month when payday is around the corner, I check out a few things online, usually scrolling through dress after dress after dress whilst on the bus, on lunch break or back on the couch after work.
(thats if im not napping on the bus ofcourse)

This time round it's bee New Look I've been looking at and there are some items in at the moment I'd love to get my hand on.

Quite a few actually, I am not sure my bank would be happy with me doing one huge haul in one month so having to pick out the most important items for now, and lust over the rest.

Here's my top picks from New Look:

I particularly love the Wednesday Adams style dress, I tried it on recently and it fits so perfectly, definitely going to be my first purchase at payday. And the off the shoulder black dress looks perfect for summer!

Do you treat yourself at payday? And if so, what are you lusting for?

From The Changing Room of New Look

I popped into my local New Look last weekend and to my surprise, they had a large Inspire section so I decided to take a look around, only to find a massive sales section.

Should have got this peplum top but it was one of the full priced items,
But isnt it so cute?!

I'm loving boxy tops atm too, this was a nice silky material but I could feel it would cling like a bitch in summer.

Loved these next two blazers, I've spotted them online and there's a discount code floating about so I'm thinking I needa get them!

Have you had a successful shopping trip recently?

Perfect Party Phrocks

The party season is upon us and what better way to get into the party mood than with a new party frock? I've bought mine, have you?
Below is a collection of my fave dresses from the rather affordable to some rather pricier pieces.
What's your Christmas "do" style?
one // two // three

one // two // three

one // two// three
four // five // six
I certainly don't need an excuse to buy a new dress, but Christmas party is as good a reason than any other so why not indulge right?!

Wrapped in pink - OOTD

I bought this dress forever ago from New Look but hadnt worn it all too often.
I debuted it first on my birthday in July...

So I decided to give it an outing to work to brighten everyones day up.

On my lips is a lip liner from Barry M in colour #113. It's my current go to colour for barbie pink lips.
And with this dress and my hair looking so bright, barbie lips were just the cherry ontop of a great outfit day!

I wore my fave necklace from Simply Be to give it some shiny magpie sparklyness.
My cardigan is from Tesco via Rachel.
And my bag is from Simply Be too.
I later added some sequin'y fish scale nail varnish from Essence called Million Dollar Baby
I do so love this top coat. I wore it with 3 coats on its own because its just so fricking cool!

Velvet Polkadots - OOTD

Just a quick one today.

I wore this to work a few weeks ago but just never got round to putting the pictures up because I have been really lazy and so not motivated to blog.
But I'm on a roll now, so here is what I wore.
I promise I don't always have Bitch face like this!

I love this top, I wore it HERE.

Lipstick is Black Heart by Make Up Revolution

What I Wore:
Skirt - Simply Be
Shirt - Simply Be
Leggings - New Look
Belt - New Look
Pumps - New Look

I picked these pumps up for a night out with Rachel a long time ago and never wore them again, think they were perfect for this get up!

This necklace is a total lucky find. I picked it up at the recent clothing swap, I saw it sparkling as someone put it down and was like a moth to a flame, I HAD to have it! It's that hideousness I love!

Here's my OOTD at work.
Because I'm a classy girl, I take selfies in the lav's with a mug of tea =D

Do you have one piece of jewellery that's vile but you love it?

(please excuse that this is shot in my kitchen)

Winter Warmer Wishlist

As we all know, it's been getting a bit chilly recently and definitely time for me to search for a/many winter coat/s.
I am particularly fussy when it comes to coat because I want something thats going to keep me warm and snug, something that will fit properly but also something thats kinda stylish.

Here is my Winter Coat Wishlist:

First is this Duffle Coat.

I always wanted one, but never owned one, this one would be ideal for those snowy days. It just looks so comfy! And it has a hood which is also very important to me since I walk a fair little trek to get to the bus stop, and I don't want my poor lil noggin getting wet or cold!
I can see myself in a pair of skinny jeans, boots and this beaut with cozy gloves and earmuffs, throwing snowballs at people.

Next is one for a more stylish look.

I do love a leather jacket, but a leather jacket with fur collar, divine!
It does not have a hood, but I suppose that's what umbrellas were made for.
Still, it's an edgy look which I know I could rock with my fatshion sense, I'm thinking black disco pants, pink trainers, a big wooly jumper and this badboy, ready to go out shopping with the ladies!

And finally, one to combine the two together, a duffle style coat with fur hood.

It has a great burgundy colour, which gives it an autumnal/wintery feel.
I can just see myself in this whilst walking around a Parisian christmas market with a mug of gluhwein in one hand and a pancake in the other.
I think I have met my match.

I can't wait till payday so I can get my frozen little fingers on at least 2 of these wonderful winter warmers!

What kinda coats do you love?
